Socialisation is incredibly important to us. From the moment our puppies are born, they are handled and loved by both our dedicated team and young children. They are exposed to various sights, sounds, and experiences to ensure they are well-adjusted and confident before joining their forever families. As licenced breeders, we make every effort to provide a solid foundation for our puppies, which contributes to their ability to thrive in a new environment.

Our commitment to our dogs extends far beyond their time at Poplar Farm. We take great care in selecting the most suitable homes for our puppies, ensuring that they will be loved and cared for throughout their lives. Furthermore, we are always available to provide guidance and support to our puppy's new families. We believe in building long-lasting relationships with our clients and this commitment is reflected in our 5-star Google reviews.

Poplar Farm Border Collie Puppies
Our breeding dogs come from working Welsh Sheepdog lines, which is why they do not conform to a set pattern or look. The size of the dog, coat length and colour will depend on the breed of sheep and terrain in the area they originate from. This means you can trust that any puppy bred at Poplar Farm will be a true representation of the remarkable Border Collie breed.

WHY CHOOSE A BORDER COLLIE?

1

Remarkable Intelligence

Border collies are renowned for their exceptional intelligence. They are ranked among the smartest dog breeds, which means they are highly trainable and eager to learn. Their intelligence allows them to excel in various activities, such as obedience, agility, and even advanced tricks.

Outstanding Work Ethic

2

Historically bred as working dogs, Border Collies have an innate desire to have a job to do. This makes them highly motivated and focused. They thrive when given tasks or challenges to engage their minds and bodies and their strong work ethic makes them a reliable and hardworking companion.

Loyal and Devoted

3

Border Collies form deep bonds with their owners and families. They are known for their loyalty and devotion, always seeking to please and be by their loved ones' side. Their affectionate nature makes them excellent family pets, and their protective instincts often make them excellent watchdogs.

Active Lifestyle Companions

4

If you lead an active lifestyle and enjoy outdoor activities, a Border Collie can be the ideal companion. They thrive in environments where they can exercise both their bodies and minds. Whether it's hiking, running, playing frisbee, or participating in dog sports, Border Collies are always up for an adventure.

Great with Children

5

With their gentle and patient nature, Border Collies tend to be excellent companions for families with children. They are usually tolerant and can form loving bonds with kids. However, as with any breed, proper socialisation and supervision are essential to ensure a harmonious relationship between the dog and children. (NO DOG SHOULD EVER BE LEFT ALONE WITH SMALL CHILDREN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES)

6

Potential for Bonding

Due to their intelligence and loyalty, Border Collies have the capacity to form deep, meaningful bonds with their owners. Their desire to please and their strong intuition can create a special bond that is incredibly rewarding for both dog and owner.

7

Long Lifespan and Health

Border Collies generally have a longer lifespan compared to other dog breeds. With proper care, nutrition, and regular veterinary check-ups, they can live up to 12-15 years or even more.

Choosing a Border Collie means welcoming a highly intelligent, adaptable, and loyal companion into your life that will bring joy to your family for years to come. Their versatility, problem-solving abilities, working potential, and ability to form deep bonds with their owners make them a truly remarkable breed.
